After a glorious morning flight over the Himalayas, reach Kushok Bakula Rimpochee airport and transfer to your hotel in Leh. Remember you’ve just landed at a high altitude destination practically from the sea level (Delhi lies at an altitude of roughly 200m above sea level) and that means your body needs time to acclimatize to this drastic change. Check in to the hotel for a complete day of rest where in welcome tea and coffee will be served by the hotel, Overnight hotel.
After breakfast, proceed to Kargil. En route, visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib (A Gurudwara constructed & maintained by the Indian Army). Proceed further and experience the effects of Magnetic Hill (Defiance of the law of gravity wherein a vehicle starts climbing up the hill when put in a neutral position) and admire the confluence of the holy Indus & Zanskar. Visit Lamayuru Monastery and Mulbek Buddha Statue. Overnight stay in Kargil
After breakfast, proceed to the Kargil War memorial in Drass to pay tribute to the Indian Army. It was in this very region in which the Indian Army fought and won the famous war of Kargil. Take some memorable snaps of Tololing, Tiger Hill and the war memorial. Start the journey back to Leh. Visit the Hall of Fame (A museum developed and maintained by the Indian army). Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast drive to visit Thiksay, Shey, Sindu Ghat, & back to Le for lunch. After lunch- Hall of fame, Leh palace, Shanti Stupa. Over night stay at Leh
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18300 ft.), 2nd highest motor able pass in the world. On reaching Deskit visit the magnificent disket monastery one of the largest monastery in the valley and yes off course the 2 story maitreya Buddha statue opposite to the monastery which provide a magnificent view of the valley and later depart to diskit/ Hunder in the afternoon and check-in at your camp / hotel. Rest of the at leisure to explore Hundar and the white Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel Safari on the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional, on direct payment). Overnight in camp / hotel at Hunder / Deskit.
After breakfast drive to Turtuk (which is first time opened for the tourist in 2010) which is a place Annexed by India only after the 1971 war.The village's inhabitants still use traditional utensils which are crafted from stone. Explore the village of Turtuk the village offers views of beautiful valley, part of Shyok Valley. On clear days you can have glimpse of K2 mountain peak located across the border in Pakistan. Return to Hundar by the evening.Overnight at hunder in hotel/camp.
After breakfast drive to Pangong lake vai shayok valley. Pangong Lake (alt: 14,500 ft.), largest brackish water lake of Asia, is 4-5 kms wide and about 135 km long of which two-third portion lies on the other side of the Indo-China border. Enjoy the turquoise color panoramic lake and the sun set on the banks of lake with magnifient mountains. Overnight stay in a cottage /camp at pangong
Early morning enjoy pictureque view of sun rise on the lake. After Breakfast drive back to leh vai Changla pass- 17350 ft/5488 mtrs and continue drive to leh. Evening free at leasure or shopping at leh market .Overnight in leh hotel.
